There are a variety of options for the extended MIT community to engage with the Department of Biology, whether it’s learning about our faculty’s ground-breaking research, sponsoring student internships, lending financial support, serving as a guest lecturer, or attending one of our open events. Read on to learn more about all the ways you can get involved. ## Lend Financial Support

If you are interested in supporting our students, faculty, or a specific area of research, there are many ways to have a meaningful impact on the department. ## Volunteer as an Ambassador for MIT’s 24-Hour Giving Challenge

Each year, the School of Science joins the rest of the MIT community in promoting the importance of participation at all levels during the [24-Hour Giving Challenge](https://annualfund.mit.edu/24hourchallenge/). We are always in need of ambassadors to help amplify this message to classmates, colleagues, friends, and others. ## Attend the Friends of Biology Annual Event
