## [Biophysical Instrumentation Facility (BIF)](https://www.bif.mit.edu/)

The BIF houses instrumentation for aiding in the elucidation of macromolecular structure and interaction.

Users can be trained in the use of a Beckman XL-I analytical ultracentrifuge, an Aviv Model 202 circular dichroism spectrometer, a MicroCal VP-DSC differential scanning calorimeter, a Dyna-Pro Titan dynamic light scatterer, a Molecular Devices SpectraMax Gemini XS fluorescence plate reader and a a Beckman PA 800 capillary electrophoresis system with LIF detector capability.

## [Department of Chemistry Instrumentation Facility (DCIF)](https://chemistry.mit.edu/facilities-and-centers/department-of-chemistry-instrumentation-facility-dcif/)

State-of-the-art major analytical instruments and knowledgeable staff supporting Chemistry and the greater MIT community

The DCIF is the shared instrument facility for the Chemistry Department located in the sub-basement (18-0090) of the Camille Edouard Dreyfus Building on the main MIT campus. We maintain an open-access lab with state-of-the-art major analytical instruments in NMR, MS, and EPR in order to support ongoing research programs, principally within the Chemistry Department.

## [Francis Bitter Magnet Laboratory](http://web.mit.edu/fbml/)

Combining expertise and instrumentation in solution-state Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and more.

The Francis Bitter Magnet Laboratory combines expertise and instrumentation in solution-state Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), solid-state NMR, Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR), Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP), microwave technology, magnet design, probe and console design, synthesis of polarizing agents for DNP, and the development of biochemical labeling strategies.

## [Laboratory Instruments and Electronics Service](https://chemistry.mit.edu/facilities-and-centers/laboratory-instruments-and-electronics-service/)

Providing diagnosis, repair, modification, consultation, and education of laboratory equipment.

The Department of Chemistry’s Laboratory Instruments and Electronic Service provides diagnosis, repair, modification, consultation, and education of laboratory equipment and electronic instrumentation in departmental laboratories. It is a resource specific to members of the Department of Chemistry.

## [X-Ray Diffraction Facility](https://chemistry.mit.edu/facilities-and-centers/x-ray-diffraction-facility/)

Offering single-crystal data collection and structure determination services on all types of molecules.

The Department of Chemistry’s X-Ray Diffraction Facility offers single-crystal data collection and structure determination services at the highest level of the art on all kinds of molecules, including inorganic, organic, organometallic and biological samples.
