2025 Commencement Information

March 19, 2025

To: All Graduating Students\ From: Elliot Meyerowitz, Caltech Convocations Committee Chair; George W. Beadle Professor of Biology; Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator\ Date: March 19, 2025\ Re: 2025 Commencement Information

I am pleased to invite you to attend Caltech's 2025 Commencement exercises on the morning of Friday, June 13, 2025. The program will include a colorful procession, a speech by keynote speaker Walter Massey, and the conferral of degrees by President Thomas F. Rosenbaum.

Commencement starts promptly at 10 a.m., so graduating students will need to report to the marshaling area in proper academic regalia no later than 9 a.m. BS candidates will meet at Parsons-Gates for a group photo at 8:45 a.m.

You can find more information on the ceremony, celebrations, and additional activities for you and your guests at commencement.caltech.edu. All graduating students who are participating must wear the appropriate Caltech bachelor's, master's, or doctoral regalia. Graduating students should order regalia (caps and gowns, stoles, and house tassels) online before April 18. After April 18, students will need to contact the Caltech Store directly to order regalia by emailing [email protected].

Order your regalia online

I would also encourage you to attend next month's Grad Fair event on Wednesday, April 16, on the Hameetman Center patio, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Grad Fair is a one-day event that will provide you with access to all the vendors and offices supporting Commencement in one location, so that you may take care of everything from ordering your regalia through the online system to confirming your participation in Commencement and having your cap and gown portrait taken. There is no fee to sit for your portrait, and you can purchase the portraits at a later date.

The activities and programs around Commencement offer a memorable conclusion to your years at Caltech. I hope you will take time to review all that is offered and participate in this celebration of your accomplishments.
