# Professor Marandi Receives Okawa Research Grant

[Alireza Marandi](https://aph.caltech.edu/people/amarandi), Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics, is a recipient of a 2019 [Okawa Foundation Research Grant](http://www.okawa-foundation.or.jp/en/activities/research_grant/index.html) for his research project entitled "Non-Von Neumann Computing Using Nonlinear Photonics."
