Our Approach

The CTLO engages Caltech students and members of research groups in outreach and community-based learning, contributing to their academic and professional development by providing experience in teaching, training in mentorship, help with design and execution of proposal components, and opportunities to inspire younger students and diverse communities in our region and beyond. Widening access to inspirational and educational experiences around STEM also increases public appreciation of these areas. It contributes to the long-term goal of fostering and recruiting the best possible students by removing barriers to the development of interest and talent in science and engineering that can otherwise arise in less-resourced communities.
