# Types of Aid Available

Financial aid is available to all students to help cover the cost of attending Caltech. There are three main types of aid offered at Caltech:

1. [Grants & Scholarships](https://www.finaid.caltech.edu/typesofaid/grants): monetary gifts that are based on demonstrated financial need
2. [Work-Study](https://www.finaid.caltech.edu/typesofaid/workstudy): an allotment of money that needs to be earned each year by working on-campus or at other eligible institutions
3. [Loans](https://www.finaid.caltech.edu/typesofaid/loans): borrowed money that will need to be repaid with interest after leaving school

After filling out a financial aid application, undergraduate students will be considered for all three types of aid.

Graduate students are only eligible for loan funding.
