The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Outreach (CTLO) was established in 2012 to integrate inclusive and evidence-based teaching practices into Caltech's undergraduate and graduate curricula. CTLO staff work with the Institute's more than 300 faculty as well as with graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants and other partners to create innovative courses and unconventional learning experiences.

The center also serves the broader community by facilitating educational outreach. Programs are designed to kindle interest in STEM, with a particular focus on local schools that have high proportions of minoritized students.
