# Mohammad Mirhosseini Receives NSF CAREER Award

[Mohammad Mirhosseini](https://aph.caltech.edu/people/mohmir?back_url=%2Fpeople), Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics, has received a CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation (NSF). The [Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program](https://beta.nsf.gov/funding/opportunities/faculty-early-career-development-program-career) offers the NSF's most prestigious awards in support of early-career faculty who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and to lead advances in the mission of their department or organization. Mirhosseini receives the award for his proposal titled "Quantum silicon phononics: Harnessing long-lived phonons for memories and interconnects."
