CTLO's training programs prepare Caltech instructors, teaching assistants, and others to meet students where they are, create inclusive classroom environments, and apply evidence-based teaching methods. Please explore to find out more:

Teaching Assistant Orientations: required for all first-time TAs, whether graduate or undergraduate students, orientations are available at the beginning of each quarter.
Head TAs: training includes strategies for course organization, communication, mentoring and managing TA teams, and more.
Microteaching: practice teaching sessions, where peers sit in as "students" and share feedback under the guidance of an expert facilitator, are helpful before starting to teach, and at later points.
Course Ombuds: training for students serving as liaisons with faculty and instructors is offered each quarter.
