# Professor Faraon Receives Adolph Lomb Medal

[Andrei Faraon](https://aph.caltech.edu/people/faraon), Assistant Professor of Applied Physics and Materials Science, is the 2018 recipient of the [Optical Society](https://www.osa.org/en-us/home) (OSA) [Adolph Lomb Medal](https://www.osa.org/en-us/awards_and_grants/awards/award_description/adolphlomb/) for his seminal contributions to on-chip quantum photonic technologies. The medal was established in 1940 and recognizes noteworthy contribution to optics at an early career stage.
