The rules may differ depending on your citizenship and whether you are an exchange student or a fee-paying student. You are insured during school hours plus while travelling to and from the school. It includes protection against injuries caused by accidents and certain illnesses due to infection.

However, this is only a starting point. To ensure full protection, it is essential that you arrange:

Home insurance is especially important! It not only covers your personal property but also includes liability protection and legal assistance. Without it, you may be left without support when unexpected events occur.

Insurance Based on Your Student Status

EU/EEA students (not exchange students)

Fee-Paying and Scholarship Students (FAS+)

Incoming Exchange Students (Student IN)

Outgoing exchange students (Student OUT)

How to submit a claim

  1. Download the correct claim form from Kammarkollegie t’s website.
  2. Fill out the form and email it to studentinsurance@chalmers.se to get it signed and stamped. Do not include receipts or police reports at this stage.
  3. Send the signed form along with your receipts and/or police report to Kammarkollegiet for processing.
