About the course

Generative AI is rapidly becoming an expected part of working life. The World Economic Forum's ‘Future of Jobs Report 2025’ finds that by 2030, 39 % of workers' core skills will be obsolete due to AI, and 59 % of the workforce will need retraining to remain competitive.

Working and Learning with Generative AI – a practical mini-course for the workplace is an open course from Chalmers University of Technology for professionals who want to strengthen their AI skills. The course consists of a combination of self-study, live sessions and practical exercises tailored to your profession. You will learn how to use generative AI in a responsible, safe and effective way – with a focus on real-life tasks.

The course will earn you a certificate from Chalmers and provide you with concrete tools that you can apply directly in your work. We encourage work teams or colleagues to take the course together, as this strengthens its integration into the business and facilitates collaboration and effective, positive change.

No programming background is required, only access to ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Perplexity or Gemini.

Please note that this is a course designed to empower participants and provide them with practical knowledge that they can use in their professional lives. The course does not focus on tutorials for each AI model, detailed programming or coding with AI, or how to build and understand machine learning algorithms.
