Anti-discrimination is often discussed on the premise that everyone's tasks are fulfilled on equal terms and that the university provides a neutral environment for this. However, as human beings, we differ in so many ways that many potential conflicts will still persist, including as a result of our different cultural assumptions and conditions.
The Federal Equal Treatment Act [Bundes-Gleichbehandlungsgesetz] and the internal agreement on respectful conduct and anti-discrimination in the workplace (only in german) set out the legal framework conditions at TU Wien. Their implementation is a regular topic of discussion.
