Start of summer term 2026

There is currently NO admission test for the Bachelor's program in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.\ All information about the admission procedure and admission can be found here: Online Registration | TU Wien

The Bachelor's program will start with a Welcome Day (Lecture Hall EI 8 in the Campus Gußhaus, 2 March, 2026, 9:00 a.m.), where you will receive all important information about the start of your studies and for your first academic year. Afterwards, the Student board of Electrical Engineering (FET) organizes an introductory tutorial where, among other things, the groups for the courses are assigned. The Welcome Day is a great help to start your studies, please take part in it!

merit-based scholarship

Credit

Courses from other post-secondary educational institutions can be credited towards your studies at TU Wien if approximately 70% of the content is equivalent. To do this, you must fill out the credit transfer form and submit it to the respective course coordinator along with your transcripts, course descriptions and a description of the examination mode so that they can verify the equivalence. After obtaining the course manager’s signature on the form, please send it, together with any certificates, to:

The bachelor thesis has to be confirmed at the start by the Dean for academic affairs if the thesis is not supervised by a Professor of the faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.

Checklist for graduation and info on starting doctoral studies

At the beginning of the doctoral program, the planned dissertation must be submitted to the Dean's Office for approval by means of the form "Anouncement of a doctoral thesis (PDF)" by e-mail to christoph.neuherz@tuwien.ac.at. This form also contains the dissertation agreement between the doctoral candidate and the supervisor, as well as the 18 ECTS courses to be completed as part of the doctoral program. The courses must be thematically related to the dissertation and have an in-depth, subject-specific character.
