Entrance Exam: Your path to a study place in 2026/27

Start well prepared

1 April to 4 May 2026

Registration is open.

If necessary, additionally submit your application for admission at the Admission Office.

10 / 13 July 2026

The written ranking test is held on site in Vienna. There is no alternative date, so make sure to be available on the test day.

Note: The entrance exams of TU Wien only take place once per academic year!

About 2 weeks after the Ranking Test

You will receive your test results via e-mail. If successful, we will inform you about the next steps for admission and starting your studies.

The winter semester always starts on October 1st.

Lateral entry into the degree programme

If you are already studying Computer Science, Architecture or Spatial Planning at another university and would like to continue your studies at TU Wien, please inform yourself about the lateral entry into the degree programme.

Further steps for admission

Admission to the degree programme is only possible after successful completion of the entrance examination and fulfilment of the admission requirements for the respective bachelor's programme.

Enrolment

Depending on your previous education, bring the required documents with you when you come to the Admissions Office in person during the admission period to enrol.

Once you have successfully passed the entrance exam, you will have to complete the pre-registration by uploading all necessary documents.

You are NOT required to come personally to the Admission Office!

The admission will be carried out online. Once your application has been approved, you will receive an email with all the necessary information. Afterwards you will have to pay the required ÖH-/tuition fee to complete your enrolment. Your student ID card (TUCard) will be sent to you via post to the address you provided in your pre-registration.
