Since the autonomy by the University Act, TU Wien is managed by the Rectorate, the University Council and the Senate. The Rectorate leads TU Wien and represents it externally. It consists of the Rector and four Vice-Rectors. The University Council is the highest supervisory body of TU Wien and consists of seven members. The Senate consists of 26 members from all groups of people and performs supervisory, advisory, legislative, and strategic management tasks.

TU Wien places great emphasis on the inclusion of students in research programmes (researchbasedteaching), considering this an important criterion encouraging new generations of scientists.\
 TU Wien offers a broad range of studies from "A" like Acturial Theory to "T" like Technical Physics. Also Doctoral Programmes and Secondary School Teacher Accreditation are offered.

A central task of the service facilities is to provide effective support to the research and teaching teams. Customer orientation, efficiency and perfect service is what matters the most. The TU Wien service providers offer IT Support, Building Services, Library Management, Public Relations, Personnel and Student Management and Documentation, just to name a few. Promotion of Women, Career Enhancement, Support for Disabled People and Internationalisation are also high priorities. World class research requires powerful infrastructure. TU Wien has bundled several Core Shared Research Facilities such as the VSC Superomputer, an X-ray Center, a Low Temperature Unit or the Centre for Micro- and Nanostructures.
