The Finance Service Department is responsible for all financial matters at TU Wien. Efficiency is key at this central office that acts as a point of contact for research, teaching and service staff requiring assistance with financial services at TU Wien.

The main areas of responsibility include accounting, compiling the end of year accounts, budgeting, controlling, offering financial assistance for projects funded by third parties, managing investments, maintaining the SAP system, managing the data warehouse and providing information to help the university management team make strategic decisions.

The Service Department is made up of the Accounting, Controlling, Project Controlling and Support, SAP and Data Warehouse Service Units.

Accountancy

The Accounting Service Unit is in charge of all things accounting, offering assistance to the organisational units in all related matters.

Controlling

Staff within the Controlling Service Unit take care of budgeting and planning, reporting, cost and performance accounting, risk management and internal auditing.

Projectcontrolling and Projectsupport

The Project Controlling and Support Service Unit is there to help staff at TU Wien when it comes to managing the finances for their research projects.

SAP

The SAP Service Group is responsible for the development and support of SAP software at TU Wien.

Datawarehouse

The Data Warehouse Service Group manages the TU Wien data warehouse, which is used as the basis for reports in TU Insight amongst other things.

Holdings

TU Wien investments are managed by the Finance Service Department and supports the organisational unit in this regard.
