At the Intersection of Two Worlds

Technical leaders face a distinctive challenge: they must navigate technological complexity while making strategic business decisions. They lead engineering organizations, oversee product development, or drive technical innovation—requiring both technical judgment and comprehensive management knowledge.

Classical executive education programs are designed for general management. Our MBA addresses a more specific question: How does one lead organizations where technology is not a means to an end, but the strategic core?

Participant Profiles

The MBA is designed for experienced professionals working at the intersection of technology and business:

What unites them all: work in environments where technological decisions have strategic implications—and vice versa.

Our Approach

As part of TU Wien, we combine technical excellence with management expertise. This combination shapes curriculum, faculty, and peer group.

Technological Foundation \ Management concepts are addressed in the context of technological organizations. Strategy modules cover platform thinking and innovation management. Finance content encompasses R&D investment and valuation of technical projects. Leadership topics focus on leading technical teams and organizations.

Peer Learning \ The cohort consists of technical leaders, senior engineers in leadership positions, and professionals at the tech-business intersection. Exchange with peers navigating similar challenges is an integral part of the program.

Academic Rigor \ Academic quality meets the standards of leading technical universities - with focus on practical applicability in technological contexts.

Curriculum

The program delivers comprehensive management competencies with specific focus on technological contexts.

Format: 18 months, part-time, blocked on-site sessions complemented by online components.

Faculty & Network

Faculty unites academic expertise with practical experience from technology-driven organizations. In addition to lecturers from TU Wien, practitioners from leading tech companies and partners from international business schools teach in the program.

The alumni network comprises technical leaders, CTOs, founders, and executives from diverse technological industries—from established corporates to scale-ups.

Partnerships with Carlson School of Management (University of Minnesota) and other international institutions enable global perspectives and extend the network beyond the DACH region.

After the Program

Graduates combine technical expertise with strategic business understanding. They are able to translate technological complexity into business context - and vice versa.

They lead engineering organizations, oversee technical product development, drive innovation, or assume executive roles at the intersection of technology and business.

The common denominator: they don't have to choose between technical and business identity.
