The rights of the AKG are laid down in detail in the Universities Act and the statutes of TU Wien. Each Austrian university has had a Committee on Equal Treatment since 1991. Their duty, as laid down by UG 02 and the Federal Equal Treatment Act, is to prevent and take action against discrimination by university bodies. In addition, they are active in monitoring hiring procedures and in their role as experts offer advice and give their opinion on draft legislation and decrees (also those issues by the university).
Legal basis:
- Universities Act 2002 (UG 02)
- Federal Equal Treatment Act (B-GlBG)
