Co-Registration

What does Co-Registration mean?

As a student, you have a "home university". This is the university at which you are admitted to a degree programme and at which you re-enrol every semester by paying the ÖH fee/tuition fee. However, you would like to attend courses at another university— either to fulfill requirements for your home university or to take additional courses? The easiest way to take these courses is to co-register at the offering university, without applying for regular admission.

Co-registered students are therefore students who take individual courses for their studies at universities other than their home university. It is not possible to complete a degree programme as a co-enrolled student! The formalities for co-registration vary from university to university, so you should check the co-registration requirements at the university where you intend to take additional courses.

Please note: Co-registration

  1. must be re-registered each semester (as well as the continuation of regular studies);
  2. only possible between Austrian universities!;
  3. if you change your study programme (or your degree programme code changes), you have to co-register again! If the study programme at the home university is closed, the co-registration automatically closes at TU Wien as well.

NOTE!

Please check first with your home university whether and in what form the courses/exams you take as a co-registered student can also be credited to your regular degree programme at your home university! \ Courses/exams taken by TU Wien students at other Austrian universities as co-registered students are only recognised as electives/transferable skills.

Please note that when registering for courses with limited spots for students, regular TU Wien students will be prioritised.
