# Promotio sub auspiciis

# Promotion under the auspices of the Federal President
## Requirements
1. the **doctoral degree** must **not yet** **have been awarded** by the dean of academic affairs. If you have already received a diploma, a promotio sub auspiciis is no longer possible!
2. **duration of studies**: the required duration of studies must not exceed the average duration of study for the respective programme. However, a longer duration of study may be excused if there are valid reasons (e.g. illness)
3. the **final years of a higher secondary school** must have been completed with “distinction”
4. the **school leaving examination** ("Matura") must have been completed with “distinction”
5. the **completed studies** must have been completed with “distinction”\
**- diploma programme:** Completion of all examination subjects with “Sehr gut” (excellent) and an ecaluation of the diploma thesis with “Sehr gut” (excellent)\
**- bachelor and master programme:** Completion of all modules of the bachelor and master programme with “Sehr gut” (excellent) and an evaluation of the thesis with “Sehr gut” (excellent)\
**- doctoral programme:** Evaluation of the dissertation with “Sehr gut” (excellent) and the rigorosum with “Sehr gut” (excellent)
