Our study information team offers personal counselling. Contact us by email or telephone.
The Union of Students at TU Wien (HTU) supports you in choosing a study programme.
Students from the student councils, in which students are involved on a voluntary basis, are here to answer specific questions related to a particular study programme.

You are also welcome to try out your chosen degree programme on-site! The ‘Studieren Probieren’ (Try studying out) programme offers prospective students the opportunity to attend courses in their chosen degree programme and find out more it. At each appointment, participants are accompanied by students who share their personal experiences and answer questions. Check out Studieren Probieren >> (available only in German!)

Financial matters

As well as new experiences, studying at university also involves financial commitments. Here is an overview of the main costs and support available:

ÖH fee and tuition fee: The ÖH fee (student's union fee) is compulsory every semester. In certain cases, you must also pay the tuition fee.
Financial support and scholarships: There are numerous funding opportunities such as merit scholarships, social scholarships or funding for students in special circumstances.
Financial support from the state: Under certain conditions, grants such as study grants or the self-support scholarship are possible.

Living in Vienna

Vienna offers students a high quality of life, numerous leisure activities and a good infrastructure. Here is an overview:

There are numerous student residences in Vienna with inexpensive rooms, communal areas and good connections to the universities.
Many students opt for a shared flat. You can find suitable rooms or flats on search portals for shared flats - an ideal way to meet new people.
Wiener Linien - Vienna's public transport - offers a dense network of underground trains, trams and buses. Students can use discounted semester tickets to get around quickly and cheaply.
