The selection procedure is to be done BEFORE admission

For the Bachelor's Programme Computer Science and Business Informatics 670 programme places are assigned in the coming academic year. The allocation of the programme places takes place in a collective two-stage admission procedure. This regulation applies to all the Bachelor's Programmes of Computer Science:

Prerequisite for the participation in the selection procedure is the (pre-)registration in theTU-own Campus Software TISS. The (pre-)registration is carried out once a year and is valid for the winter semester and the following summer semester.

Participation fee

For the admission procedure the applicants have to pay a fee of EUR 50,00. Payment of the fee is made via an online payment system in your application, opens an external URL in a new window. As soon as your payment has been received, you will also see a confirmation there.

Stage 1: Online-Self-Assessment

The selection procedure includes an Online-Self-Assessment. The Online-Self-Assessment serves as a self-assessment of the applicants regarding their choice of study in terms of their basic suitability for the chosen Bachelor's degree program. The Online-Self-Assessment test can be completed by applicants independently and from any location. This stage of the admission procedure is completed when the Online-Self-Assessment test has been completed in full; the result achieved is not included in the procedure. You will receive a confirmation after completing the self-assessment, please keep this as proof that you have completed the self-assessment - you will be able to enter this in your TISS Guest account during the process.

Please note: We will send you the confirmation code to the email address you used to register for the self-assessment. Therefore, please use an email address that you will still have access to in the coming months.

Stage 2: Ranking test

The written test, which is the second stage of the admission procedure, will take place on the date set by the Rectorate of TU Wien and will be held in German.The written test consists of a cognitive section that tests problem-solving and reasoning skills, a second section that tests text comprehension, and a subject section.

Ranking

The result of the selection process will be determined on the basis of the points achieved in the ranking test.

The results of the selection process achieved by the students are ranked and lead to a ranking. The available programme places are awarded to the students with the highest number of points. If there is a tie, the lot decides. The result of the ranking will be announced to the students exlusively in the personal TISS-User account.

Admission

Those applicants who have been granted a place are entitled to apply for admission to the Bachelor´s Program Computer Science or Business Informatics at TU Wien until the end of the additional period of time for the winter or summer semester immediately following the completed admission procedure, upon presentation of the necessary evidence and fulfillment of the other admission requirements (§§ 63 ff and 91 UG). Admission to a later semester is excluded.

Admission takes place in the Admissions Office.

Students who have not been admitted in one academic year can participate in the admission procedure again in the following academic years.

Students who participate in the admission procedure again must complete it in its entirety each time.
