## Hands-on Workshop on MicroED

We are excited to announce a specialized workshop on Microcrystal Electron
Diffraction (MicroED) taking place at the SERB National Facility for Cryo-Electron
Microscopy, IIT Madras, from August 11-13, 2024. Led by Dr. Brent Nannenga,
Associate Professor at Arizona State University, this workshop offers an in-depth
exploration of MicroED, combining theoretical insights with hands-on experience.

## Workshop structure

Lectures :

- General introduction to theory and application of MicroED
- Sample preparation for MicroED
- Data collection in MicroED
- Equipment used in MicroED
- Data processing in MicroED
- Structure determination for macromolecules
- Structure determination for small molecules and materials

Hands on demonstrations
 :

- Sample preparation
- Data collection
- Data processing (this will be done as a demo as well during lectures)
- Structure solution (this will be done as a demo as well during lectures)

Registration Fees

- Students: Rs 10000
- Scientists/Industry Participants: Rs 20000

Due to the hands-on nature of the workshop, participation is limited to 15 attendees. We strive to select participants from a wide variety of backgrounds and institutions to foster diversity and broad representation.
