A joint summer internship initiative between IIT Madras and the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, designed to deepen research exposure, technical training, and cross-cultural academic engagement for selected students.

## Programme Overview

The Summer Internship Programme offers selected students advanced exposure
to research and academic practices at IIT Madras, one of India’s premier
institutes of higher education. The programme emphasizes research skills,
technical knowledge, and international academic collaboration.

## Eligible Participants

- Undergraduate students at University of Peradeniya who have completed the third year.
- Master's students at University of Peradeniya who have completed the first year.

## Participating Department

- Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) only.
- Internships will be hosted exclusively within the Department of Electrical
  Engineering at IIT Madras under IIT Madras faculty guidance.

## Internship Duration

- Conducted during the summer term.
- Exact dates and duration will be communicated to selected candidates.

## Financial Support

- IIT Madras will provide a living allowance to support basic living
  expenses during the internship.
- Travel, visa, insurance, and other incidental expenses will be borne by
  participants or the nominating institution, unless otherwise specified.

## Selection Process

- Students will be nominated and shortlisted based on academic merit and
  suitability for the internship.
- Final selection is subject to approval by the Department of Electrical
  Engineering, IIT Madras.
