# Master of Science (MS) by Research for Doctors

Master of Science (MS) is a research-based degree. Therefore, the thesis will not be as rigorous as the doctoral program. Yet, you can get a good grounding in research methodology and approach. If you are in the middle of your MS program, upgrading to a PhD program is possible.
