Research Interests

After completing a PhD at the University of Manchester in 2008, Geraldine worked as a lecturer in Spanish at the University of Strathclyde (2008-2011) and at the University of Sheffield (2011-2015). Geraldine's research has focused on literary modernity in nineteenth-century Spanish literature, looking at the short experimental narratives of Leopoldo Alas and Antonio Ros de Olano, early examples of Spanish science fiction and the representation of the future in nineteenth-century Spanish literature.

Geraldine is a co-founder of the International Network for Nineteenth-Century Hispanists. The next meeting of this International Network will take place in Ramapo College, New Jersey:
