The dual degree programme provides you with a profound and wide knowledge both of a practical as well as a theoretical nature. The programme is targeted at the study lines in [Acoustics](https://www.dtu.dk/english/education/graduate/msc-programmes/electrical-engineering/specialization/acoustics) or [Automation and Robot technology](https://www.dtu.dk/english/education/graduate/msc-programmes/electrical-engineering/specialization/automation-and-robot-technology).

As a dual degree master student—one year at DTU and one year at [KAIST](https://www.kaist.ac.kr/en/), Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology—you get a Danish and an international degree which gives you personal and academic skills and experiences.

[KAIST](https://www.kaist.ac.kr/en/) is among the world's leading research-oriented universities in science and engineering with campus in Daedoek Innopolis, in the city of Daejeon, the heart of Korea’s innovation. Established as a research-oriented university in 1971, KAIST is closely linked to the strong economic development of Korea.

**Dual degree programme**

The dual degree programme is an MSc programme of two years or four semesters open to MSc students at DTU and [KAIST](https://www.kaist.ac.kr/en/). The programme consists of three course work semesters followed by the master's thesis which you write during the fourth semester.

You study at KAIST for a period of two consecutive semesters, either the second and third semesters (and you write your master's thesis at DTU), or the third and fourth semesters (and you write your master's thesis at KAIST).

You will be assigned a DTU supervisor as well as a KAIST supervisor. Your fellow students will be domestic as well as international students, and the teaching is in English.

**Credits**

KAIST uses a credit transfer system similar to ECTS, the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System, applied by DTU where three KAIST credits equal ten ECTS credits.

During the four semesters, you must obtain 18 KAIST credits and 60 ECTS credits.

**Degrees obtained**

Upon graduation, you will be awarded the master's degrees of both universities.

The degrees awarded are

MS in Mechanical Engineering of KAIST

MSc in Electrical Engineering of DTU

**Admission procedure**

The programme is open to MSc in Electrical Engineering students at DTU upon application. Applications are evaluated by DTU and then reviewed and approved by KAIST. In order to apply for this program you must first be admitted to the MSc in Electrical Engineering at DTU. Students should apply no later than during their first semester of the MSc programme.

Application deadlines: 15th October for a spring semester start, 1st April for an autumn semester start.
