Anyone who meets the general admission requirements of the DTU programmes can immediately apply for admission to Open University at DTU. However, applicants who have obtained equivalent qualifications in other ways may also apply for admission.

If you do not meet the admission requirements, you have the opportunity to take the one-year DTU admission course. If you are in any doubt as to whether you meet the admission requirements, you need to get in touch with the contact person mentioned in the course description for the individual course.

You cannot follow the course if:

As a graduate engineering student, you can follow diploma engineering, undergraduate and graduate courses, which are not part of your curriculum, and which the study manager will not approve as part of your education. You can also follow courses if at this time there is no room for these within the 210 ECTS points that your education is rated for (240 ECTS credits for Arctic Technology and 270 ECTS points for Export and Technology).

As a bachelor student, you can follow diploma engineering courses. You can also follow bachelor's and master's courses if there is no room for these within the 180 ECTS points for which your degree programme is rated.

As a master's student, you can follow diploma engineering courses. You can also follow bachelor courses if you have already used the opportunity to take 10 ECTS-points bachelor courses on your master's degree, cf. your curriculum. You can also follow Bachelor's and Master's courses if there is no room for these within the 120 ECTS points for which your degree programme is rated.

Courses that you have taken on the vacancy scheme, while you were enrolled in an ordinary full-time programme at DTU, will not be eligible for this full-time education at a later date.

If you want to follow courses on the vacancy scheme in order to be able to meet admission requirements for a Master's degree programme at DTU, you must be aware of the rules for conditional admission to a Master's degree programme with a view to supplementary education activity.
