BBED6811 Unity in Diversity: Exploring Intercultural Education in Vietnam (NEW)

Project Details

This course investigates the multifaceted aspects and ethical issues around intercultural education within service trips. Participants will volunteer at Maison Chance, a non-profit organisation in Vietnam, where they will engage directly with the student beneficiaries, making a tangible impact on underprivileged communities. The curriculum includes sessions on intercultural education, service learning, cultural sensitivity and ethical considerations. Participants will conduct an initial needs analysis to guide the design of workshops that promote intercultural understanding. In practical service at Maison Chance, participants will gain hands-on experience by organising interactive workshops for local students, thereby addressing socio-economic challenges and physical disabilities. The workshops will be facilitated for students from various ethnic minorities, applying practical intercultural education strategies. By the end of the course, participants will acquire the knowledge and skills to contribute to intercultural education initiatives, understanding the importance of education, health and equality in fostering inclusive communities.
