Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Class Reunion?

A Class Reunion is a great opportunity for all alumni to reconnect with old friends and their alma mater.

Class Reunions date back to the earliest years of schools and universities. Initially, graduates returned to their universities to visit professors and friends. Over time, these visits evolved into dinners or banquets.

A reunion allows alumni to nostalgically reminisce about their old school days, fondly remember their youthful pranks, and update each other on their lives since they went their separate ways.

HKU Development & Alumni Affairs Office is here to assist with your upcoming reunion. We offer a reunion package that includes an exclusive dining experience in the Senior Common Room on campus and a complimentary campus tour led by our Student Ambassador.

How can we organise our own Class Reunion?

Simply get in touch with your old friends and decide on a suitable date for your reunion. You may then fill out the “Organise Your Class Reunion” form to contact us.

We will discuss your class’ preferred catering options, campus tour arrangements and other special requests.

For further enquiries, please contact us at reunions@hku.hk

How many classmates do I need to gather for a Reunion?

You will need to gather at least 11 classmates to make a table of 12. We can accommodate reunions up to 120 people

What can we expect form our Reunion on campus?

During your reunion, you will get to explore the campus with a guided tour lasting up to 90 minutes. Our guides will take you around the historical landmarks, unique post-war architecture, and the latest teaching and learning facilities.

If you have any particular places in mind, let us know so we can personalise your tour.

After exploring the campus, you can relax and catch up with your friends over a meal at the Senior Common Room. It is the perfect place to reminisce about your University days.

Can we schedule our Reunion at any time of the year?

Yes, you can have your reunion at any time of the year! It is entirely up to you and your class. To get started, you may fill out the “Organise Your Class Reunion” form to contact us.

When do we need to finalise all the details of our Reunion?

Do we need to pay a deposit before the Reunion?
