4. Search for potential supervisor (optional)
5. Check fee and explore scholarship and financial support

6. Check application details

7. Check admission requirement

8. Check application period
9. Contact potential supervisor (optional)

11. Prepare the application

12. Prepare supporting documents

13. Take required test(s), if any
14. Identify two academic referees and ask for their consent

15. Apply online

16. Create an account in the Online Application System. \ Refer to the Operational Guide for the step-by-step procedures.

17. Fill in the online application form and upload supporting documents
18. Pay for application fee and submit the on-line application
19. If some of the required supporting documents are not available at the time of submission,\ upload the documents to the Online Application System once the document is available

20. Track your application

21. Check your application and referees’ report submission status via the Online Application System

22. Look out for email correspondence from HKU

23. Application result announcement

24. An email will be sent to you once there is an update to your application status

25. Applicants can also check the application result via the Online Application System

26. Accept your offer

27. Accept offer via the Online Application System

28. Submit required documents for conditional offer
29. For non-local student, check student visa requirement and start the application process if needed
30. Start planning for arrival such as accommodation, bank service, etc.
