# Library Book Renewal Guide

### Procedure to renew books checked out from the Art History Resource Centre

##### 1.

Go to the Centre’s Online Library Catalogue: <http://arthistory.hku.hk/rc-opac>. The landing page is the Search screen of the Catalogue.

Click ***Staff/ Student Login (borrowing record & online renewal)*** on the left to start the book renewing process.

##### 3.

The Borrowing Record login screen will be loaded. You will be prompted to fill in the ***Patron Barcode*** and ***Pin***. Type in your student number for ***Patron Barcode***. Your student number will also be your Pin for the first time when you access your Borrowing Record. Click ***Sign in*** when this is done.

The page will be refreshed. Click ***My Account*** on the top right corner to visit your account details.

Reach ***My Account*** page, click ***Items Checked Out***to view your borrowing record. Your borrowing record shows the books that you have checked out from the Resource Centre.

The due dates are shown in the far right column of the “Items Checked Out” section. Locate the item that you would like to renew, check the tick box at the front to select the item, then click on the ***Renew Selected Items*** button below.

The screen will be refreshed with the message ***Done*** in green appears, and the due date updated. The renewal procedure is now complete.

As the student number will be your Pin the first time you log into the Centre’s Catalogue, remember to change your password for better security. To change password, click on the ***Change Password*** button on the left.

***The renewal process must be completed before 24:00 of the date the item is due. The Library Online System does not accept renewal for overdue items.***
