Supporting a Student's Application

Counsellors or teachers who are tasked with supporting students' application to University may seek for access to the HKU Counsellors' Portal.  Applicants have been given detailed instructions on how to nominate you as their counsellor on the application system under this Step by Step Guide to Application.

For counsellors with whom we have already connected in previous cycles, an email with your access and password will be sent to you when the system opens.  If you need access to the counsellors' portal, please let us know here.

Counsellors can support your students by uploading your reference letter as well as the report on the applicants' performance onto the Counsellors' Portal.  A system-generated email will be sent to you once an application naming you as a referee is submitted to HKU as a reminder.

If your students have significant financial difficulty in settling the application fees, please write to us via counsellors@hku.hk, and we will be in touch on the next step for the application. Evaluation will be conducted on a case-by-case basis.

I would like to retrieve my lost password.

You may use the “Forgot Password” function on the login page of the portal. Please type your email and complete the jigsaw puzzle by dragging the button under the image accordingly. You will then receive an email with the link to reset your password.

I couldn't get to the applicant page after clicking on a student's application on my portal.

This is likely due to your browser setting as some browsers may automatically block the pop-ups. You can either turn the setting off or try using a different browser.
