## Ocean Park Experiential Learning Progarmme (PGDE-FT)

### Background of Co-organiser

[Ocean Park](http://www.oceanpark.com.hk/en) is Hong Kong’s unique home-grown theme park with a heritage of delivering family fun and fond memories. Since its opening in January 1977 as a non-profit organisation, Ocean Park has developed itself to be a world-class attraction connecting people with nature, and gained consistent recognition for its animal husbandry, research and relationship with the community. More than 140 million people have visited Hong Kong’s premier park since its inception, and Ocean Park has remained committed to offering adults and children experiences that blend entertainment with education and conservation. Being the education arm of Ocean Park, Discovery & Education Department has been providing quality Science and Conservation offerings to schools and the public since 1992.

Within the diverse environment of the Park, Discovery & Education Department offers fun-filled programmes to enrich learners of all ages and groups. These programmes offer diverse learning opportunities and encourage participants to appreciate and bond with nature. They incorporate an experiential learning approach with children and students making discoveries and receiving inspiration through their exploration, observations, sharing and reflection. STEAM elements have been introduced into our programmes to facilitate children, families and students to learn and explore. We also feature a Teacher Day Camp to inspire and assist teachers with implementing environmental education.
