Queen Mary University of London is delighted to offer Global Excellence Scholarships worth £7,000 for high achieving postgraduate taught offer holders joining us in September 2026/27. The Scholarship is available to all international students with an offer for an eligible postgraduate taught programme, who meet the following criteria:

Once you’ve applied for a Masters programme at Queen Mary and received an offer, you’ll need to complete a scholarship application form, which will be emailed to you directly once Global Excellence Scholarship applications are open.

If you had already been awarded a Global Talent Scholarship, you will now automatically be considered for this new Global Excellence Scholarship and you be notified of an outcome if you have been successful. You do not need to submit a new application.

The scholarship will be deducted from a recipient’s tuition fees when they enrol at Queen Mary.\ \

Terms and Conditions

  1. You must have achieved, or be on course to achieve, a minimum of a UK first class bachelor’s degree or an overseas equivalent degree. Information on the comparability of international qualifications can be found on the Entry Requirements section under the listings for each programme in the course finder. Please note this information is only intended as a guide and the final decision on equivalency of overseas qualifications will be made by the Admissions Office.
  2. This scheme is available only to students who apply for and enrol on an eligible course taught at Queen Mary in September 2026. Scholarships cannot be deferred to subsequent years of study.
  3. Your fee status must have been confirmed as ‘Overseas’ by Queen Mary and must remain ‘Overseas’ throughout the programme. This award is not available to applicants assessed as ‘Home’ for fee status purposes, regardless of domicile.
  4. You must be enrolled on a full-time master’s programme.
  5. You must not be in receipt of any other Queen Mary scholarship, tuition fee discount (including the Queen Mary alumni discount or partner university discount), or scholarship from any other source.
  6. You must be fully self-funded.
  7. Pre-masters programmes (standalone and integrated) are not included in the Global Excellence Scholarship scheme.
  8. If you are awarded the scholarship, it will be deducted directly from tuition fees payable to the University. You must be able to finance the remainder of your tuition fees and living expenses.
  9. The scholarship will be confirmed when your admissions status is ‘unconditional firm’ (UF) and you enrol at Queen Mary.
  10. The scholarship is awarded by Queen Mary in line with the eligibility criteria and application requirements published above. We reserve the right to withdraw the scholarship if your fee status changes to Home or if you otherwise become ineligible for the award.
  11. Where a deposit payment is required, deposit deadline extensions will not extend to the offer of the scholarship.
  12. Due to the high level of competition for these awards, unfortunately feedback cannot be provided for unsuccessful applicants.
