The aim of the Economics and Finance Placement Scholarship is to support home students from the School of Economics and Finance with a low household income to take the year in industry programme. The scholarship will cover the full cost of the fee in the academic year that the industrial practice is undertaken (normally year 3 of the academic programme).\ \

How do I apply?

You will need to complete a separate application form to be considered for the Economics and Finance Placement Scholarship. Please complete the following Application Form.

The successful candidate will be informed of their award via email notification from the Economics and Finance Administration Office.

Eligibility Criteria

For 2025/26, five scholarships will be available, subject to confirmation:

  1. Students must be paying full home tuition fees (i.e., not in receipt of another scholarship);
  2. Students must be registered on a programme from the School of Economics and Finance with a year in industry;
  3. Students must have secured a work placement (and received official approval from the School) for the academic year 2025/26 and they must have met the academic progression requirements; and
  4. Students must be able to demonstrate an annual household income below £42,000.

Winning Criteria

The Scholarship will be awarded to the students who have achieved the highest weighted average grade across their first and second year.
