Our support for Degree Apprentices allows you to gain the tools needed to progress in your chosen industry.
This includes access to our specialist Careers Consultants, the latest industry insights from visiting alumni and the numerous employers that come on to campus. Here is more information about the different ways in which we can help.
We've created a range of short videos on different career topics (interview techniques, assessment centres, cover letters etc) for students like you who don't have much time to attend our longer workshops!
Hear from previous Degree Apprentices about how the scheme has helped them to thrive in the world of work. These perspectives provide an honest account of the highlights and challenges of doing a Degree Apprenticeship.
One to one advice appointments (up to 40 minutes), which can be either face to face or virtual. Can be used to discuss topics such as; how to make the most of your time at university, how to excel in the workplace, how to develop your professional networks and how to build your personal brand.

One to one appointments (20 mins), which can be either face to face or virtual, to discuss topics such as; a CV refresh, help with a promotion application or reviewing a cover letter.
One to one appointments (30 mins) which can be either face to face or remote, to run through an upcoming interview and receive tailored feedback on their interview performance.
Access to a wide range of courses, which can be taken at any time. Examples include Professional (presentation skills, time management, influencing, effective communication, management training, negotiation, networking), Technical (Excel, Python, data analysis, SEO, finance, design, project management) and Personal Development (wellbeing, career choice, resilience) courses.

Hear from alumni and industry professionals to broaden their understanding of their field, get advice and tips, as well as develop commercial awareness.
Online Tools
Our range of online tools can be used to prepare for future recruitment activities. These include:
- QM CV Builder, which can assess a CV’s suitability when read by a computer
- Practice psychometric tests and interview tasks such as e-tray exercises
- Video interview software to practice interviews and gain feedback
- The Careers Discovery Feed on QM Careers Hub contains resources such as employer profiles, industry insights, and sample CVs and interview questions. It also includes helpful resources like:
- 'Top 10 skills' – bitesize learning to help you develop the top 10 skills employers look for, including creativity and innovation, digital proficiency and problem solving. Log in to QM Careers Hub and search under the pathways tab.
- 'What to do with your Degree Pathways’ – Whether you decide to look for progression with your current employer or want to explore opportunities with other organisations and in other industries, our pathways will enable you to make informed decisions.
- The Institute for Apprenticeships contains lots of useful information about Degree Apprenticeships. Their career maps show the various job options an apprenticeship can lead on to.
