How to apply
Details on how to apply for undergraduate courses
Students who have successfully completed A-Levels or the International Baccalaureate will be considered for direct entry onto our undergraduate degrees. We may also consider recognised Foundation qualifications. For individual grade requirements for particular degree programmes please refer to the undergraduate study section of this website.
We also consider students from Trinidad and Tobago with the following qualifications:
- Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE)
This is Queen Mary’s equivalency table for GCE A-Levels and the CAPE:
| A*AA | Six CAPE units with an overall grade of 1, including two double-unit courses with grade 1 |
| AAA | Six CAPE units with an overall grade of 1, including two double-unit courses with grade 2 |
| AAB | Six CAPE units with an overall grade of 2, including two double-unit courses with grade 2 |
| ABB | Six CAPE units with an overall grade of 2, including two double-unit courses |
| BBB | Six CAPE units with Grade 3 or above, including two double unit courses |

Please note, the CAPE is not accepted for admission to either our MBBS or BDS programmes (but is accepted for all other undergraduate programmes). However, it is accepted for our MBBS programme delivered in the Republic of Malta.

Postgraduate
We normally consider the following qualifications for entry to our postgraduate taught programmes: Bachelor Degree (minimum 3 years) from a recognised institution.\ \ UK 1st class degree: GPA 3.7 out of 4.0; or First Class Honours from the University of West Indies\ UK 2:1 degree: GPA 3.0 out of 4.0; or Upper Second Class Honours from the University of West Indies\ UK 2:2 degree: GPA 2.4 out of 4.0; or Lower Second Class Honours from the University of West Indies
