# Programme structure
This specialisation combines advanced training in computer science and artificial intelligence at a world-class institute with interdisciplinary courses on high-tech instrumentation and design and an industrial placement, preparing you for a career in which you develop and apply computer science and AI techniques to innovations in industry.
## Programme outline
The Computer Science and High-Tech Innovation specialisation consists of a computer science component (roughly the first year) where you will follow courses and conduct a research project, and a High-Tech Innovation component (roughly the second year) where you will take courses in astronomy, chemistry, mathematics, and/or physics, and undertake a placement at a company or research institute.
