Tuition Fee System

Tuition fees at Ghent University Global Campus consist of:

• A basic fixed fee:this is a fixed fee, due once per academic year of enrolmentThe basic fixed fee is used to cover the costs of student administration, use of facilities and various educational and operational expenses.\ The basic fixed fee is not refundable.
• A credit-based tuition fee, calculated on the basis of the taken credits in the academic year.\ The tuition fee is calculated in proportion to the number of ECTS credits taken up in the academic year and is paid per semester. A bachelor year at Ghent University Global Campus consists out of 60 credits (2 semesters of 30 credits).\ No fee is due for exemptions and previously acquired credits.

The basic fixed fee and the tuition fee are determined by the Board of Governors of Ghent University after the advice of the Campus Council and the GUGC Board of Directors.

Preparatory semester

For students enrolled in the preparatory semester (BA1 March programme):

• the fee rate is the rate for the academic year following the preparatory semester,
• the basic fixed fee will be valid for three consecutive semesters (March preparatory semester - September - March semesters),
• the tuition fee is based on the taken credits in the preparatory semester (15 credits)

E.g., students starting in the preparatory semester in AY 2025-26 (March 2026) will pay the rate for AY 2026-2027 (basic fixed fee + fee per credit).

At the start of the AY 2026-2027, they will only be charged the tuition fee, as the basic fixed fee paid in March 2026 is valid also for the following academic year 2026-2027.

Academic Year 2025-2026 incl. Preparatory semester March 2025

• Basic fixed fee: 2,000,000 KRW \ Fee per credit: 300,000 KRW
• For 60 credits, the total annual tuition fee is: 20,000,000 KRW
• For the Preparatory semester, the tuition fee (basic fixed fee + 15 credits) is: 6,500,000 KRW

Academic Year 2026-2027 incl. Preparatory semester March 2026

• Basic fixed fee: 3,000,000 KRW \ Fee per credit: 300,000 KRW \ \ (*) For Preparatory semester students starting in March 2026, the basic fixed fee is payable in two instalments:\
• March 2026: 2,000,000 KRW\
• September 2026: 1,000,000 KRW
• For 60 credits, the total annual tuition fee is: 21,000,000 KRW
• For the Preparatory semester, the tuition fee (first part basic fixed fee + 15 credits) is: 6,500,000 KRW

Academic Year 2027-2028 incl. Preparatory semester March 2027 (subject to approval by the Board of Governors of Ghent University)

• Basic fixed fee: 3,000,000 KRW\ Fee per credit: 316,000 KRW
• For 60 credits, the total annual tuition fee is: 21,960,000 KRW
• For the Preparatory semester, the tuition fee (basic fixed fee + 15 credits) is: 7,740,000 KRW

Tuition Fee Payment

The basic fixed fee is due at the start of the academic year. For students taking the preparatory semester, the basic fixed fee must be paid before the start of the March semester.

The tuition fee is paid per semester. A semester consists out of 30 credits.

New students must pay the basic fixed fee before enrolment.

A Tuition Installment Payment system is available for students with financial difficulties, allowing to be invoiced by 3 monthly installments. The installment payment system is only offered the tuition fee, not for the basic fixed fee.
