# Management and administration

## Management
The [Rector](https://www.ugent.be/en/ghentuniv/management-administration/rector) and [Vice-rector](https://www.ugent.be/en/ghentuniv/management-administration/vice-rector) are responsible for the overall management of the university.
They are assisted by the [Chief Academic Administrator](https://www.ugent.be/en/ghentuniv/management-administration/academic-administrator) and the [Chief Logistics Administrator](https://www.ugent.be/en/ghentuniv/management-administration/logistics-administrator).
Together, they form the **Management Committee**, which is responsible for
- the day-to-day administrative, technical and financial management of the university
- coordinating the operation of the University Services.
