AY 2025-2026**There are still plenty of living units available for the second semester.\ \ AY 2026-2027*Applications for next academic year are possible from 15 May 2026 onwards. *

Due to technical issues, after applying, your summary email might contain some information applicable for local high school students only. You can ignore everything after "Kindly check whether...".

In order to apply for housing, you have to initialize the application exchange procedure in OASIS. Please read the information on this webpage first and click on the "call-to-action button" at the bottom of this page.

If you have a letter of invitation for one semester you have 1stpriority for accommodation in the Homes.

If you have a letter of invitation for a period less than 4 months, you have 1stpriority for accommodation in the Halls of Residence, but you will only be eligible to rent a studio..

If you have a letter of invitation for 10 months or a period longer than a semester, you have 2nd priority for accommodation in the Halls of Residence.

The Housing Office will be able to process your housing application once you have been accepted as an exchange student at Ghent University. You do not have to contact us, we will receive this information automatically.\ We will get back to you automatically and as soon as possible.\ \

If you are not eligible to stay in the Homes or Residences because they are fully booked or it is not your ‘cup of tea’, you can look for a suitable housing unit on the private rental market.

Only students with a letter of invitation for one semester or for a period less than four months will be considered for accommodation in the Halls of Residence in Ghent: priority is given to students applying for a semester.
