How to submit an application for admission?

  • Carefully read the information here-below prior to starting the online application.
  • Make sure that you have a pdf-version of the required documents you will need to upload. You will need to upload your diploma and your transcripts.
  • Your complete online application, including a verified degree, should be received by the Registrar's Office before the deadline.
  • By completing the online application, you confirm that you have read, understood and accept the admission requirements.

Required documents

By the application deadline, Ghent University must receive complete application files. If any required documents are missing after the deadline, your file will not be considered.\ Your complete online application — including a verified academic degree — must reach the Registrar's Office before the deadline. \ \ Ghent University partners with Qualification Check, a global verification service, to authenticate academic degrees and documents. Applicants must use the following link to ensure that Ghent University receives your verification results: https://ghent.qualificationcheck.com

Master application Faculty of Economics and Business Administration: GMAT or GRE (valid for max. 5 years after test date) is required for all non-EEA students (origin of the diploma, not the applicant's nationality) who apply for a programme at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. EEA students are strongly advised to add a GMAT or GRE test score to their application since the faculty will be granting 8 scholarships to students with outstanding scores on the GMAT or GRE test.

Master application Faculty of Engineering and Architecture:GRE (valid for max. 5 years after test date) is required for all non-EEA students (origin of the diploma, not the applicant's nationality) who apply for a programme at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture

Master application Faculty of Sciences: GRE (valid for max. 5 years after test date) is required for all non-EEA students (origin of the diploma, not the applicant's nationality) who apply for the Master of Science in Biology, Master of Science in Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Master of Science in Bioinformatics: Systems Biology, Master of Science in Bioinformatics: Engineering, Master of Science in Bioinformatics: Bioscience Engineering

Not yet graduated before the deadline?

You need to start the application procedure and you also need submit your application before the deadline. You do not need to wait until you graduate. Instead of the legalised diploma and final transcripts/diploma supplement, you are required to submit upon application:

If your application was successful, you are accepted at Ghent University and you will receive a letter of admission. This letter will mention that you will be required to submit a legalised copy of your diploma upon enrolment.

You cannot enrol if you have not yet obtained the diploma on the basis of which you have been granted admission.

When your application was successful, you will receive a letter of admission. This letter enables you to:

Deferred admission

It is possible that you have received a letter of admission, but that due to circumstances, you need to defer your admission (to the next academic year). You will need to make a new enrolment application for the same programme but for the new academic year. You will not need to resend your legalised documents (if these were correctly submitted already).

The request will be reviewed and when successful, you will receive a letter of admission for the new academic year
