# Enrolment as a student (on the basis of a Benelux degree)

> From 1 March, you can already submit an enrolment application for the 2026-2027 academic year, pending the actual enrolments from 3 August.

## Step 1: Register and submit your enrolment application

**When can you start?** You can submit your enrolment application from 1 March onwards.

**You will need:**

- Your Belgian identity card (eID card) and eID reader
- Your PIN code for your eID
- Or: Itsme as an alternative

**Please note:** If you do not know your PIN code, request a new one from your local council. Allow approximately 3 weeks for this.

**How to proceed:**

1. **Register with Ghent University**: Select 'Register via Authenticatie Vlaanderen (eID, Itsme)' if you have a Belgian identity card. This is mandatory for online enrolment.
   - *Exception*: If you do not have a Belgian identity card, select 'Register by creating an account'.
2. **Submit your application**: Click on 'Enrol' and complete your enrolment application.
3. **Wait for confirmation**: You will receive an email with instructions on how to complete your enrolment.

**Tip:** Make sure you have a [good passport photo](https://www.ugent.be/prospect/en/administration/enrolment-or-registration/instructions-passport-photo.htm) ready.

## Step 2: Enrol

- The enrolment itself is done through our OASIS application from August 3.
- To check the status of your enrolment application: you will find instructions to complete your enrolment under 'Status' in your enrolment application.
- After enrolment, you will receive a welcome email.

### How much tuition do I have to pay?

The tuition fee for a full-time academic year in 2026-2027 is € 1181,40. Are you eligible for a scholarship? Then you will pay € 139,40.

After enrolment, you will receive a payment request by e-mail.

### Define my curriculum

As soon as possible after registration, please [submit a curriculum proposal](https://www.ugent.be/prospect/en/administration/enrolment-or-registration/curriculum-proposal-procedure.htm) (the courses you want to take up).

If you have not submitted a curriculum proposal before 15 November, the curriculum committee will compile a course package for you (i.e. always the case for a model route (MOT)).
