[First-Year Seminars](http://fys.ucdavis.edu) are an exciting program of small, innovative classes that reflect the instructor’s intellectual interests. Limited to 19 first-year undergraduate students each, these once-in-a-lifetime courses promote intellectual exchange, critical thinking, and community. Students have the opportunity to study with faculty members, often meeting in settings more informal than the ordinary classroom.
