Applications for the 2026/27 Global Excellence Scholarships are open!
University College Dublin (UCD) is one of the world's top universities and is the most popular university for international students in Ireland. Each year, UCD offers a number of Global Excellence Scholarships for international students (on non-EU fees) starting their courses in September.

Limited 100% and 50% tuition fee scholarships for outstanding international students applying to undergraduate and graduate taught programmes only.
Application Deadlines
- Undergraduate applicants from North America - 1st February 2026
- Undergraduate and graduate taught applicants from the Middle East, Africa and Pakistan Regions and for graduate taught applicants from South Asia - 28th February 2026
- Applicants at both undergraduate and graduate taught levels, from all other regions - 31st March 2026

Am I eligible?
This scholarship is ONLY open to incoming students who are classed as non-EU for tuition fee purposes. (For information regarding fee classification, please review the fees page.)
To apply for the Global Excellence Scholarship, students must first have received an offer (or a conditional offer) to study on an eligible UCD course.
Which programmes are eligible?
Many undergraduate and graduate taught programmes are eligible for this award however, some programmes are excluded. Please check the following document to see if your programme is listed as eligible:
How do I apply?
It is important to submit your application to your programme of study as early as possible. During peak scholarship competition windows, we experience a significant surge in applications. As a result, processing delays may occur.
While UCD strives to review programme applications and return decisions promptly, we cannot guarantee that all admissions applications will be processed prior to the scholarship application deadline.

Are scholarships automatically renewed each year?
No. If you are a continuing student, please note that scholarships are not automatically renewed.
All continuing students will be assessed for scholarship eligibility for the next academic year in accordance with the terms and conditions of your original award. The review process takes place after the end of the academic year, and all students will be notified of the outcome between late September and October.
There is no need to contact the office before this time unless you have a special request.
