Outreach Programmes for School Students

UCD’s College of Engineering and Architecture offers a series of different outreach programmes and seminars designed help school students gain a deeper understanding of Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or City Planning and Environmental Policy (depending on their area of interest). These programmes / seminars will help them gain a deeper understanding of the area they will be studying, how they will study, the opportunities and associated future careers.

January Open Day
This event will focus on an overview of degree subjects available through the College. You will get a short overview of the courses, their structure and the career opportunities they offer, before our panel of current students will talk about their experience and what it’s really like to study in the College of Engineering and Architecture at UCD.
Engineering Your Future (EYF) - 4th Year Students
STEPS EYF is an engineering experience programme that gives Transition Year students a hands-on, fun, and practical insight into engineering at the third level and as a career. The programme, which runs over five days on UCD’s campus, involves interactive talks and presentations, hands-on experience with group-based activities, a visit to a local industry, and the opportunity to meet engineers at various stages in their careers.
EYF is run in conjunction with the Engineers Ireland STEPS programme.
UCD EYF usually runs in May each year. Youcan learn more about the programme here.

Leaving Cert Drop-In Webinars - May 2026
We are inviting all students considering studying their Bachelor's of Engineering, Architecture, City Planning & Environmental Policy or Landscape Architecture at UCD to attend one of two webinars to meet our academics and the College Office staff.
This is an excellent opportunity to answer any questions you may have in relation to studying at UCD.

Summer Schools - 5th Year Students
5th year school students are invited to join us on UCD’s campus for a half-day event, where they will have the opportunity to experience college life, and meet lecturers, staff and students.

The College of Engineering and Architecture is very happy to facilitate a presentation in your school or through Zoom on any of the four bachelor's programmes it offers.

UCD Festival, Public Event.
The UCD Festival is an annual public event, which takes place June each year for an in-person celebration of the best of UCD. Don’t miss this unique day of celebrations, connections, discovery and exploration.
