The overarching purpose of the module is to give you an appreciation of organisations, their context and the skills required to manage them. \
\
This module is designed for students who are not undertaking a business degree and the cohort will be made up of students from diverse backgrounds, contributing and applying their discipline insights and interests to assessments. \
Please note that the module is generally oversubscribed and places cannot be guaranteed. A reminder to those eligible to complete a Business fundamental structured elective, you must complete three out of the following options so consider checking them all out: ACC10060, BMGT10060, BMGT10140, BMGT10150, BMGT10160, MIS10040, and MKT10720.\

Important note:\
--Students are expected to attend all sessions.\
--Students must complete their written submissions from start to finish in Google docs on their UCD Connect drive while online and without the use of Document tabs. Failure to comply will result in a NM/fail grade for the Learning reflection. \
--Students are NOT permitted to use ANY AI/generative AI tools to complete assessments unless a particular tool has been specified as part of the instructions. Failure to comply will result in a NM/fail grade for the assessment component. \
--Students are expected to comply with UCD's Academic Integrity Policy requirements. Any evidence of misconduct will be forwarded to the school's committee.\

###### Approaches to Teaching and Learning:

The module will require attendance and contribution to sessions in smaller or larger interactive settings as well as completion of weekly readings and topic MCQs which will be the foundation for discussion as well as two written assessment components.

Students from the following Programmes are excluded from registering to this module - Bachelor of Commerce; Bachelor of Commerce (International); Bachelor of Business and Law; BSc Economics & Finance; BSc Business. Students from these programmes who register to this module will have their registration dropped.

**Learning Recommendations:**\

The module is designed for students from a non business background who wish to gain insights on management issues in the business world. It is aimed particularly at students pursuing medicine, engineering, social science who may in the future wish to set up / or get involved in business management.
