## Our Hub for Students

The UCD Global Lounge is a multi-functional space that allows students, staff and the wider UCD community to build connections with each other and the world around them. The space is an expression of UCD’s commitment to global engagement, and the activities which take place in the Lounge serve to enhance the global culture of UCD. 

The Lounge is managed by the Global Community Team in UCD Global, which includes staff and students who are highly skilled in the areas of student support and event management.

**Global Guide Welcome Desk**

Our team of Global Guides are ready to support fellow students by providing information, managing and organising events and offering peer-to-peer support both in person and virtually through our social media channels.

Global Guides are available at the Welcome Desk in the Global Lounge during our standard opening hours, 09:00–17:00, Monday to Friday, during term time. If there is an open-door evening event, the Lounge will remain open until the event finishes.

**Global Lounge Events**

Enabling our student community to support each other socially and culturally is hugely important to us. The UCD Global Experience team hosts a wide range of events each trimester, like coffee mornings, society events, quizzes, movie nights, board games, discussions, language cafés, and more.

## Events

###### **Global Community Series: Skills for an Interconnected World**

A new series launched in September 2025. The UCD Global Lounge Calendar shows all our upcoming events, so please keep watching this space!

The *Global Community Series: Skills for an Interconnected World* is open to all UCD students, and includes a number of workshops, events, sessions and materials presented across the Autumn 2025 trimester. The series is open to all UCD students.

The series will feature:

- Engaging workshops with standout facilitators
- Inspiring events to immerse you in cultural experiences both at UCD and in Dublin
- Sessions to allow you to build an empowered sense of community through connections with your fellow UCD students
- Virtual and asynchronous opportunities for further learning and to continue to develop your global community

Are you an avid reader? Or do you want to start reading? Meet new friends and expand your cultural horizons with stories from diverse, international authors. Hosted in the Global Lounge, the UCD Global Book Club is open to all students. We meet once a month to discuss our book of the month.

Tea and snacks are included!
